If you’re a fan of Football you will probably already know that Chelsea Football Club Legend John Terry recently retired. He has been at the club for the majority of his career and made a name for himself as one of if not the best English center back In the history of football. Everyone that enjoys watching this beautiful game is sad to see his reign at Chelsea come to an end or almost everyone!
When two lucky punters messaged Paddy Power for odds on Terry leaving the pitch in the 27th minute in his last ever home game it looked rather unlikely. They probably thought this was an easy way to earn a couple of quid should it pay off, and it did! In the end, Paddy Power had to pay out over 3.5k to the two lucky men. Paddy Power said “We replied to a novelty request for odds on John Terry’s substitution – one of the hundreds on the Chelsea game – and fair play to the three punters who were on at odds of 100-1.
“To be honest the only mistake here is we should have clocked sooner there’d be another cringe-worthy Chelsea send-off for JT.”
This substitution was clearly planned as even the Sunderland boss David Moyes agreed to give Terry a minute for his Guard of honor and to simply enjoy his last ever appearance at Stamford Bridge. We wish Terry all the best in his future whether he decides to continue playing and join a different club or continues at Chelsea as a coach/in a different role!
